Sea Salt

Standard

IMG_3280So, with all the snowy goings on, I spent some lovely time in the Sewing Room, aka Cauldron of Creativity aka Beading Bungalow.  You get the idea – the place where I make stuff!

The components of this necklace have been in the works for a while.  I’ve been making the pink tubes on and off for over a month.  They are peyote stitched bugle beads, topped with a picot of 15º seeds.  Not difficult, but time consuming to be sure!

Once they were completed, I had to figure out what to do with them, as their original intent didn’t turn out.  There were grey/pink rice beads and silver crystals in the bead boxes, surely they would be complimentary.

The end result:  Himalayan Sea Salt

At least, that’s what this necklace reminds me of – those blocks of salt that are used by swanky restaurants for cooking on.
